What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist? All Dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are Dietitians. A dietitian has to have at least a bachelors degree in nutrition/dietetics or similar health field, and then go through an Accredited Internship where they get trained, supervised practice. They also to have continuing education to maintain their RD status. There are no general requirements for being a dietician.
